5-min Yoga At Work

I've been very lucky during lockdown in Melbourne because my wife is a yoga guru. :). Regular stretches, breathing and mindfulness practices have worked wonders on my wellbeing and the sense of harmony at home with my family. So 5-min yoga practices is something that I'll be sharing on a regular basis. These are useful for long hours sitting or standing at a computer. The practices will help you excel in things you do.

Yes, you can do all of this in 5 minutes and feel great afterwards.

When: Middle of the day, before lunch. What: Stretches and movements to let your energy flow. How: Listen to your body, be gentle and attentive to your breath.

The sequence

Feet

Shift the weight forward and back, lift and lower your heels Knees: bend your knees lifting your heel toward you buttocks (For good left / right brain coordination we tap the foot with opposite hand)

Hips

Circle the hips and notice how it feels Spine: Side stretch the body. Shoulders: roll them, lift and lower

Face

A gentle massage across forehead, temples and down to the jaw. Give the ears a squeeze too. Throat: Clear the lymph nodes (maybe your food will taste better!)

Food

Take the time to notice how today's food affected your energy and mood. Be a scientist and find the food combination that works best for you.

Breathe

Life is better that way.
