JDRF Fundraising Gala
JDRF is the leading global organisation dedicated to funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The organisation’s mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications. In order to accomplish this, JDRF has invested close to $2 billion since the company’s inception. JDRF collaborates with academic institutions, policymakers and corporate and industry partners to develop and deliver a pipeline of innovative therapies to people living with T1D.
The annual JDRF Gala offers sophisticated evening events in six capital cities with a theme that changes each year. Nearly 2,000 people attend across Australia to publicly support JDRF alongside their peers in the philanthropy and business communities. Collectively, the events hope to raise $1.5 million for type 1 diabetes research.
Botanica events in Melbourne and Perth broke JDRF annual Gala fundraising records on Saturday 17th of June. Over $1.06 million was raised towards the national Gala total. The star power of MCs Eddie McGuire (Perth) and Joel Creasy (Melbourne) saw guests offering generous donations to the T1D community.
