Mini Melbourne in MineCraft

TESTIMONIAL

“It was a great experience start to finish working with Artificial Studios. Jorge and his team took time out to understand our brief from the get-go, adding value at every step along the way. The quality of the work itself was excellent, with superb attention to detail, great comms and a quick turnaround when we needed it. The end result is better than we could have expected. We have had many compliments on both the film and digital work. Highly recommended.”

THE PROJECT

Mini Melbourne in MineCraft is a world-first educational resource. The project recreated 600,000m2 of a virtual version of Melbourne city centre inside of popular video game Minecraft.

Within Mini-Melbourne is the Metro Tunnel Archaeology Adventure, where users explore the city by digging a virtual construction site in the Melbourne CBD and uncovering artefacts which give insight into the history of the city.

DELIVERABLES

Promo film

We filmed an archaeologist on location explaining the project as well as footage of teachers and students in the classroom using the game. We captured cinematic views of the city from within the game itself, accompanied by dynamic motion graphics and 3D animated titles.

Education edition videos

We were tasked with creating instructional videos for students and instructional walk-throughs for teachers to familiarise themselves with the game.
