VMC Film Festival gala
We were thrilled to sponsor the VMC (Victorian Multicultural Commission) Film Festival for the 2nd year in 2019, hitting the red carpet and interviewing emerging filmmakers about their response to the theme of ‘making diversity great again’. Our team gathered with a huge crowd at ACMI to watch all 15 finalist films that beautifully captured everyday multiculturalism in Australia.
Congratulations to the team of the hilarious comedy “Scopa" who scooped the People’s Choice Award by audience popular vote at the conclusion of the night! The talented team were awarded our Sponsor Prize of a 4 hour behind the scenes shoot to use on their next production. Director Max Miller is a first-generation Greek Australian and screenwriter Mark Samual Bonanno is of Sicilian heritage. The creative duo drew inspiration for the film from their shared cultural experience and they also work together as part of comedy group Aunty Donn. Congratulations also to Producer Jessica Galea.
